and high profile cases including for one of the defendants acquitted after four months of trial in the biggest cash robbery ever in this country. He has acted for a number of professional people including dentists, doctors, police officers, accountants.

Richard also undertakes regulatory work and has acted for a number of companies and individuals who have faced investigation and prosecution by various regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency.

Richard has recently been instructed by a number of Directors of banks involved in the Foreign Exchange investigations being carried out by the FCA and American Department of Justice.

Richard is a member of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences, the Criminal Law Solicitors Association and the Kent Law Society.

He is the current Chair of the Law Society of England & Wales’ Criminal Law Committee and has been appointed as the Law Society’s representative on the Review of Efficiency of Criminal Proceedings being carried out by Lord Justice Leveson. He is also a member of PACE Strategy Board.

Richard appears regularly on national media in connection with criminal law matters. He has lectured both in this country and abroad and has been invited to help train lawyers in the Republic of Ireland in connection with advising suspects in Garda (Police) Interviews.
